Site Update Acknowledgements

Currently, updates on this site are primarily focused on content, with a secondary focus on features and accessibility for desktop browsers. I am aware that this site doesn't really look good on smaller screens, such as tablets or phones. Some day, maybe after most of the content is done, maybe then I'll work on making the site more mobile-friendly. Until then... enjoy these content updates!
Date Version Description
October 22, 2025 1.4.3
  • The film review for Star Trek [2009] has been posted!
  • Added a blog page for the occasional reaction to new material as it comes out, and whatever else I want to talk about.
  • Added a new auto-scrolling news feed to the Home page, which will include new blog posts, announcements of important dates, and the like.
  • Added an “Iconic Episode” designator to certain episodes for Deep Space Nine and Voyager, to match up with the upcoming Next Generation reviews.
Other fixes and quality improvements
Updated the “Random Review” generator on the Home page to include more details; updated emojis throughout the site for a more consistent experience across browsers (after I learned a neat trick); made a few more additions to the reviews for Star Trek: Picard.
September 23, 2025 1.4.2
  • Added a random review generator to the Home page.
  • “What to Watch First” sections have been added to the existing film reviews.
  • Implemented a new sans-serif font throughout the site.
Other fixes and quality improvements
Home page reworked using CSS Grid instead of a layout table; Films page reworked to look less... silly; fixed/updated/added a number of things on the reviews for Star Trek: Picard (I think I was getting eager to publish it...); tool tips were added to episode rating numbers for ratings from third parties; made some minor text-to-speech improvements; a scrollbar gutter was added to episode lists to avoid shifting when only a few rows are displayed; an issue with the row highlight on the main timeline was fixed, and the search bar touch targets were increased in size for WCAG compliance; made some behind-the-scenes language changes to be more inclusive; also in a hotfix published 16 Sep 2025: fixed a silly issue with text-to-speech in Safari browsers.
August 30, 2025 1.4.1
  • 404 page mini-game: Picard now moves more smoothly and has been upgraded with the ability to move DIAGONALLY! 🤯 Also, there's now an option to mute game sounds.
  • The Star Trek Universe Full Timeline table now highlights the row the mouse is hovering over.
  • All episode table header rows are now “sticky” (they stay at the top of the window when you scroll down).
Other fixes and quality improvements
Text-to-speech now actually stops playing if you leave the page (heh, oops); a “distinctions filter” and a “clear filters” button were added to the Picard episode list; added a “personal favorite” distinction to exactly one episode of Picard; fixed a tiny padding issue with the nostalgia meter tagline that was driving me crazy, and added a tagline that was missing; worked on consistent use of bold text and capitalization for all episode distinctions, as well as added two missed distinctions to two Picard episodes; the bottom orange loading-border was added to the main timeline; some minor consistency updates for tool tips; fixed link underline appearance in Chrome-based browsers; added some missing links to various timelines.
WCAG accessibility improvements
Search and filter elements in episode table headers were enlarged for touch target compliance; added whitespace where needed to keep image alt text and other elements separated; fixed spoiler toggles on the “Picard” reviews to be properly labeled.
August 19, 2025 1.4 +
  • The Star Trek: Picard Series Guide is now live!
  • The Seven of Nine Topic Guide is also live!
  • Star Trek: Nemesis has been reviewed and added to the new Films page!
  • A new text-to-speech feature has been introduced on some text-heavy reviews.
I found myself writing long paragraphs in the new reviews for Picard and Nemesis, and if you're like me, you don't always have the attention span to just read lots and lots of text. So, now you can listen to it, instead!
Other fixes and quality improvements
Made some additions to a few DS9 episode reviews; switched to a new serif font for some text-heavy areas; the timeline search bar now executes a search when you select an item from the suggestions instead of making you click once to select and again to search; a “clear” button was added to the timeline search box and episode title search boxes; “Showing X of Y episodes” box now stands out more when titles are filtered; adjusted the Support link so it doesn't load the iframe until it's actually clicked; added smooth scroll to even more places it was missing; updated language in a few places to be more inclusive.
WCAG accessibility improvements (added in a hotfix released August 23, 2025)
Added link underlines in most text-heavy areas; added missing alt-text to an image; added a title attribute to the support/ko-fi iframe; added labels to some form elements (particularly the new text-to-speech controls).
July 15, 2025 1.3.1
  • Added a title search box to the “full episode list” for each series.
  • Applied Google Analytics to the site for page view statistics.
  • Added a “Support” link in the header and footer with a Ko-fi widget for making donations to the site.
I certainly don't expect any donations to my silly little website here, but it's there if anyone wants to, and proceeds will go toward maintaining the site.
Other fixes and quality improvements
Improved the performance of title sorting on episode lists by fixing an issue where it would redundantly sort twice; added a “Mirror Universe” designator to the appropriate episode descriptions; added a “start here” indicator on the Prodigy timeline; reworked <title> text on most pages; fixed every instance where I conflated “summary” and “synopsis” (heaven forbid!).
WCAG accessibility improvements
Fixed labels for toggles on the spoiler menu on the full timeline; fixed touch target spacing for navigation menus; fixed unordered list elements on this page; brightened up default text on all pages; contrast improvements on timeline menus, series home pages, Home page, this Updates page, episode ratings below 3, and final score boxes for scores below 2.
June 24, 2025 1.3
Other fixes and quality improvements
Improved(?) the look of links to guides on series home pages; series title graphics in the nav menu now link back to their respective home pages; fixed some strange HTML in the “Watch Recommendation” box for all reviews; slight change to title sort radio buttons on episode lists; fixed all episode titles that have “Part 1/Part I/Part 2/Part II”, etc. as part of the title or not; cleaned up legacy links with unnecessary nbsp characters; made all quotation marks consistent by replacing "straight quotes" with “stylized left and right quotes” in work that can only be described as almost as fulfilling as the hyphens.
June 3, 2025 1.2.2
  • Added an entirely stupid (and poorly-coded) mini-game to the 404 page.
  • When sorting episode tables with Title Sort, episode titles are now displayed with the leading article moved to the end (e.g. “Chute, The” instead of “The Chute”).
Other fixes and quality improvements
The "C6Reviews" banners at the top and top left now link back to the home page; changed < > symbols to nicer-looking chevrons ❰ ❱ in all timelines; added custom OpenGraph images to all pages, not just the Home page; updated the layout and content of the Home, About, and Updates pages; and more hyphen work, if you can believe it.
May 10, 2025 1.2.1
  • Added a search bar to the Star Trek Universe Full Timeline, along with some other style and quality updates.
  • Adjusted color coding on all timelines to be WCAG AA compliant.
  • Updated various fonts and styles throughout the site.
Other fixes and quality improvements
Re-wrote the About page; improved the look of the spoiler menu on the full timeline; updated and added color coding to episode-specific timelines; worked toward standardizing the use of dashes and hyphens across the site (I know, try to contain your excitement about that one).
May 4, 2025 1.2
Other fixes and quality improvements
Fixed an error where filtering episode lists by “Recommended” would also display “Highly Recommended” episodes; further standardized episode quotes formatting; added color coding to series timelines; added an OpenGraph image for social media link previews; spruced up the Section 31 movie review page.
March 24, 2025 1.1.1
February 28, 2025 1.1
Other fixes and quality improvements
Reorganized the home page; made episode quotes formatting consistent across the DS9 guide to match the upcoming VOY guide; added smooth scroll to some places it was missing.
